A pilot initiative made with Practical Action The video you are about to see shows the first step in this exploration: our first pilot in the High Andes in Peru in April 2007 where staff and potato/alpaca Kamayoqs (indigenous agricultural advisors) were trained in the use of PV. The results of this pilot were extreemely positive: the Peru team designed a long-term plan to continue developing the use of PV in other projects and the farmers produced their first video to share their views with other market actors in one of the participatory market mapping workshops that we facilitated. Part of a a long-term action-research programme using Participatory Video is a powerful tool to improve collaboration and
technology exchange amongst small-scale producers, amplifing their voices during their interactions with policy-makers and other market actors.
