The Participatory Video Revolution!

Insight is a UK/France based organisation pioneering the use of Participatory Video as a tool for empowering individuals and communities.

Insight’s Participatory Video methods value local knowledge, build bridges between communities and decision-makers and enable people to develop greater control over their own development and the decisions affecting their lives.

If a picture speaks a thousand words, then a video must speak a millon! The best way to explore our work is to watch it. See Videos!

Participatory Video enhances research and development activity by handing over control to the target communities from project conception through to implementation, monitoring and evaluation. We believe that opening communication channels for project recipients is the key to developing successful participant-led projects with sustainable and far-reaching impacts.

NEW! Interview with the directors of Insight

Nick and Chris Lunch were recently interviewed as part of OneWorldTV's series focussing on pioneering individuals and organisations using video as a tool for social change. Click here to watch.

What is Participatory Video?
(in a nutshell)

In 1999, the World Bank conducted a survey amongst 60,000 people living on less than a dollar a day. When asked what they felt would make the greatest difference to their lives, the number one answer, above even food and shelter, was access to a voice.

"PRA methods are given a new dimension when combined with Participatory Video games and exercises." Nick & Chris Lunch, Insight directors

"It takes two to speak the truth – one to speak and another to hear." Henry Thoreau
