As Executive Assistant at InsightShare, Marleen supports the InsightShare team with a broad range of activities - ranging from PV facilitation and communications to events organisation and logistics.

During a degree in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology Marleen specialised in visual anthropology, carried out fieldwork with extreme right youth and homeless people and produced two documentaries. After supporting Nick with the 'Conversations with the Earth' programme - as part of a six months internship with InsightShare - she finished her studies with a thesis on the use of participatory video to support and promote indigenous-led biocultural diversity conservation initiatives.

Before moving to the UK, Marleen was vice-chair for discussion organisation WDO and worked for the Dutch Foundation ‘Wij Helpen Daar’ as the project manager of a cross-community reconciliation camp in Sarajevo. Next to her job at InsightShare, Marleen recently started a part-time MSc in Sustainable Development and Design, during which she currently exploring the potential of participatory video for urban agriculture extension in informal settlements.
